Graduate work in Statistics requires a strong undergraduate background in mathematics and statistics as well as experience with computing and data. In order to be admitted without deficiencies, an applicant should have earned, at a minimum, credit for the course work described below. Courses in parentheses are the University of Illinois courses that fulfill these requirements. + M.S. Program Prerequisites Calculus through vector calculus (Math 241) Linear Algebra (MATH 415) Calculus-based Statistics and Probability I (Stat 400, or Stat 408 and 409)
