The minimum TOEFL score required is 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), and 80 for the internet-based test (iBt). The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is required for international applicants whose native language is not English and who have not studied full-time for one uninterrupted academic year at a university-level institution in which English is the language of instruction and in a country where English is a dominant language.

Applicants who are applying for the Structural Engineering Department should take the GRE exam no later than December to insure the timely receipt of score results.
