Students who did not attempt their undergraduate studies in English are required to attempt the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). It must be taken within the last two years at the time of submitting your application.Official IELTS/TOEFL Score (required if the medium of undergraduate studies was not done in English language)We welcome international students to apply for the MAF programme. Applicants must show proficiency in the English language. Applicants whose medium of instruction in their undergraduate studies was not English must sit for either TOEFL or IELTS .International students must possess a valid student's pass to be able to study at SMU. SMU will assist in the application of student passes for all international students studying full-time in SMU.TOEFL: 550 (paper-based test) or 90 (internet based test)Your TOEFL score is valid for two years after the test date.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examinations General Test) is mandatory for admission to the MAF programme. It must be taken within the last five years at the time of submitting your application.If you have not taken the GMAT or GRE, you may first submit your online application and arrange for the test to be taken as soon as possible. Do include the date of your test as well.There is no minimum GMAT/GRE score required. We will view your application for admission to this programme holistically to gauge your suitability.However, to make your application more competitive, we encourage applicants to achieve the following:GMAT/GRE: 600 and above (with a strong Quantitative Score)The GMAT/GRE score is a helpful measure for comparison when evaluating potential candidates from all countries and universities.All business schools have to provide summary data on applicants/students including their average GMAT/GRE score to various external bodies.Exemption of the GMAT/GRE component may lead to inconsistencies and unfairness in our admission processes.You should submit your highest score if the score is still within the 5 years validity period after the test date.
