business or engineering is not a requirement for admission, but much of the coursework in the MMM curriculum requires quantitative skills, so students are encouraged to complete introductory courses in calculus and statistics prior to attending. The curriculum itself isbased on a holistic foundation of leadership, which is rooted in the differentiated coupling of process-based and possibility-based thinking.
Kellogg strongly recommends applicants to have at least two years of work experience upon matriculation. The Admissions Committee believes work experience will enrich one's experience in the classroom and allow our students to participate fully in classroom discussions and group projects.

Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English is required of all Kellogg students. Classes and group work demand strong English language skills. A valid TOEFL score is required for all candidates who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents. TOEFL scores are valid for two years. The complete application must be submitted prior to the expiration date of the TOEFL score. Candidates must request that TOEFL scores be sent to Kellogg. To prevent processing delays, we strongly recommend that candidates upload the official TOEFL score report (if available). International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores are not accepted as a replacement for TOEFL scores.

Applicants should self-report GMAT or GRE scores in the application. The Kellogg School will record the highest score but encourages applicants to report additional scores if the test is taken more than once. Official score reports can be e-mailed to mbaapplicant@kellogg.northwestern.edu.
