Fluency in spoken and written English is essential for success in our graduate program. For this reason, international applicants generally must score better than 50% on the Verbal portion of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and achieve minimum scores on the TOEFL test. The Department of Biochemistry adheres to the minimum score requirements for TOEFL testing from the Graduate School.Minium required score is 80(IBT); recommended score is 92(IBT)
The Graduate School is phasing out usage of IELTS. IELTS results with a test session date after November 1, 2016 will not be accepted.

Graduate Record Examination Scores (GRE): The Biochemistry Department requires scores in the General Test. However, if a GRE subject test is reported, it will be considered in the application.
