Monash has six Australian campuses: Clayton campus (20km south east of Melbourne) – easy and convenient by bus, with more than 10 bus routes that goes through the Monash bus loop, including the 601 express bus that runs every 4 minutes to Huntingdale train station. Caulfield campus (10 km south east of Melbourne) – adjacent to the Caulfield train station, a 12 minute train ride away from the city. Peninsula campus (40km south of Melbourne) – 20 minute walk from the Frankston train station, with more than 15 buses stopping within the vicinity of Peninsula campus. Parkville campus (3km north of Melbourne) – tram 19 delivers you to the doorstep of the campus, and is a 15 minute tram ride from Flinders Street train station. Berwick campus (40km south east of Melbourne) – a 5 minute walk from the Pakenham train station and with 4 bus routes that stop directly outside the campus gates. Gippsland campus (55km from Melbourne) – 2 hour train ride from Melbourne to Morwell Station, with a further 20–30 minute bus ride to the campus. Students returning to campus on Sunday evening may be eligible for a subsidised $1 taxi service from Morwell Station to campus. Monash Shuttle Bus services run in both directions from Clayton to Berwick, Clayton to Caulfield and Clayton to Peninsula campuses, as well as between Frankston train station and Peninsula campus. Buses include free Wi-Fi through the EduRoam network. Additionally Monash have campuses in Malaysia and South Africa, centres in Italy and India, and a Joint Graduate School in China

The university recommends that you already have accommodation organised before leaving your home country. However, if you’d like to settle in and sample the areas and suburbs of your exchange town before deciding on the one that suits you best, short-term accommodation might be helpful. Be sure to arrange your flights so that you arrive in your new city at least two weeks before the Monash Abroad orientation. If you would like to be in the thick of it, if study is your main objective and you not a fan of a commute, on-campus accommodation might be right for you. Living on-campus in the halls of residence will immerse you in campus life – you will be shoulder-to-shoulder with other exchange students, international students and domestic students, so you will make friends fast. If you are keen to explore your new city every day, prefer tree-lined streets or the company of locals, you might like to find your own accommodation. Maybe you already know people in the city where your Monash campus is located, or you have made fast friends with other exchange and study abroad students and you would like to live together – whatever the reason, the university can help you find your new home. Monash Sport Health and Fitness Centres at Caulfield, Clayton and Peninsula campuses with fully equipped gymnasiums with cardio theatre, and indoor courts. Doug Ellis Swimming Pool includes a 25 metre, variable depth, 6 lane pool with adjoining leisure pool, spa pool, sauna and steam room. Over 50 different sporting clubs. Monash University participates in a number of competitions including the Australian University Games, Australian University Championships and Southern University Games. Other facilities include hockey fields, football fields, tennis courts and squash courts.
