University campus is located throughout Tübingen, a traditional university town in central Baden-Württemberg, 19 miles (30km) south of Stuttgart. Students' tuition fees include most of the cost for a travel pass valid for all buses and trains for the local area. They must pay an additional €47 (£40) per semester upon collection.

Erasmus and exchange students may apply for accommodation through the university's student association. The university does not help students find private accommodation. Applications may take a while to process, and sometimes notification of room availability can be as late as 4 weeks before the courses begin. Rent currently varies between €210-300 per month in halls of residence and €425-700 in private rented accommodation.
